I decided to rant about something that bugs me to no end: Ageism. That is, discrimination on grounds of age.

Ageism affects more than we know; you can't vote, drink, etc, based on a generalization by people who don't know you. It's complete bullshit.

people try to make teenagers look younger than they are by calling teenagers "children" or "babies."

people try to make elders look older than they are by calling them "dead people" or "fossils"

they all sound like ageist inults to both the old and young to me.

and adults in there middle ages tend to always have this thing to insult BOTH the elderly AND teenagers by calling teenagers "children" and by calling the elderly "old farts"

ageist insults never stop.

it's like calling a black person a nigger or a white person a cracker.

ageism against young people needs to be stopped too,

people should stop looking down at young people the way they should stop looking down at black people

besides, sometimes an elderly person can be the punky trouble maker who knows nothing

and a teenager can be a the mature goody toe shoes who knows it all.

Have you considered the other side as well? Older people are often discriminated against on account of their age, since this is a very youth-centric society.

I rated this video 5 stars because it's so true. I'm 19 and wouldn't dream of shoplifting, but the amount of times I've been followed around shops and searched by the police is disgusting. This ageism is definitely just as bad as racism and sexism.

Shop owners have ejected my friends and myself from several stores on numerous occations just on account of our age. Im 17, but dose that make my money unspendable before 4:30, dose it make me lees of an american....or LESS OF A HUMAN. Were all just human, but all my life I've been deprived of rights its a damn shame

Wow...funny! True though, I am a constant victom of ageism, I look young for my age and am a constant victom of it.
