My boss just got one of these for X-Mas. I don't know what he paid but it only has 12,000 miles on it since '96. Lucky bastard

F45 Electronic Ride Control is the adjustable suspension option that was available from 1996-02. The earlier version (1989-95) is option code FX3, and the later version (which is still available today) is F55. Ride Control basically allows you to change the firmness of the suspension at any time. It works by using speed sensors on each wheel, which the computer processes and adjusts each shock accordingly. Always an expensive option, it's rarely seen on any year car.

I believe the Corvette was one of the only GM cars to ever have a ride control system. You may have seen the new Acura commercials that brag about a sophisticated magnetically-operated shock -- the same thing has been available on Corvettes since 2003!
