  • Sadly, not true. An estimated 250-300 deaths per annum in the US alone are attributed to lack of breastfeeding. Formula-fed babies are also at a significantly higher risk of childhood cancers, Crohn's disease, obesity, diabetes, food allergies... need I go on?

Yes, breast or bottlefeeding is a 'choice'--so what? That doesn't mean that either option is equally valid. Denying a child the immunological and nutritive benefits of breastmilk for non-medical reasons is the wrong choice.

  • For all those "that it too old to be breastfeeding" people: The World Health Organisation recommends kids are breastfed for "at least two years", with the researchshowing kids benefit more the longer they are breastfed. Wouldn't you rather try and give you baby the best start in life you could?

Well done, Maiya's mummy and daddy!

  • SICK SICK SICK SICK ......I am sure she otherwise eats of a plate and drinks from a cup...these parents have other issues!!

  • No she's drinking soda, exhibitionist. pffft.

  • I love how happy she sounds!! My baby makes those noises but she's only 5 months.. hope she's still that happy in a few years to come! I love breastfeeding.

  • Hehehehe ... let's get a sippy cup and make a cute video about drinking milk out of a cup. Hmmm ... doesn't have the same shock value. People ... don't exploit your kids for your own agenda.

  • I'm good with nursing !!! Just not passed 3 1/2 !

  • Thumbs up to Maiya's parents for giving her such a great head start for life. I nursed my daughter to 22 months when she decided to wean herself. The only thing disturbing about nursing a toddler is the nonacceptance from our society.

  • that is the cutest thumbs up i have ever seen!

  • how adorable!!

My daughter is also Maiya, a toddler who loves her boobie

  • Yup, when the adult teeth grow in is when the immune system is developed.

  • because its the natural thing to do

    it helps other people

and it is one of the beautiful things of being a mother.
