She talks just like me! I am from Ann Arbor. Love those soft vowels--my ex called it "vowel smashing." "You guys" is a give away. I do say root differently though. Love that "knaaaahhb" for door knob. "Ahn" for "on."
Born in Grand Rapids, raised in Coldwater. People have said I have a Michigan accent and I say "bollocks". I don't think we have a distinctive accent.
I have been living in Simi Valley CA since 1980, but I grew up in Niles, Michigan up to the age of twenty. I never knew I had an accent until my acting teacher in California called me on it. I was reading Shakespeare and trying to sound all English or whatever, and he said, "Jon... stop using those big Michigan O's"! I never told him where I was from, but he (Frank Roach) nailed it! So... I have an accent! Cool...
I am also from Michigan - a small town between Lansing and Grand Rapids. I moved to Florida 5 years ago and was told CONSTANTLY that I talked funny and sounded Canadian. I think that rural west MI and east MI is are a little bit different but basically similar. I miss my accent :( I still have it, its just much weaker now. I <3 Tennashoes!

I'm from MI as well and recently moved to Chicago and here are things I've been called out on:
Saying "Bolth" instead of "Both" <People bring this up ALL of the time
Running words together, such as "Gonna" "Hafta" "Tennashoes" "Howzitgoin"
Throwing "E" sounds in like when I say "can't" "Faygo"
