@sengx Yes they can, I have seen one 36 inches pulled out of there before, most though arnt much more then maybe 20-25 inches on average. LOTS of pike though, worth hiking back too. Fish the weed beds (need to rent a canoe) I have had the best luck with fake rubber weedless frogs.

hey i just started to fish in alaska. and ive also been searching for pike and a guy recommended red shirt lake. does anyone know if they pike over there get over 30 inches?

I think that is probably true. In June after they spawn I think they get a bit sluggish.
We fished Alexander each of the last 2 Sundays and its been dead. I think the weather has to do with alot of it.

If ya don't mind my askin, how much did Rusts charge you for that one day trip?

@UGLYSTIKCOLIN I think it was $250 per person including boat motor and flight. They offer a special at the Sportsmans Show every year and we just go and pick one up there every year. Can't wait. I am going to go a bit later this year. My understanding is that the bigger fish get more active later in the season. MId-July verses early June
