  • Hi feaspetrol, there was a study done on biodiversity at BedZED. The site was contaminated brownfield land mainly occupied by ponies. Brownfield sites are often great habitats, but ultimately it's impossible to only build on sites without any biodiversity value at all. The green roofs at least provide a place for birds to rest and feed - a migration corridor, if you will - and we do now do more to address biodiversity impacts. You can't always go as far as you'd like when doing mainstream work!

  • When pulling out the draw It didn't seem like the best Built draw...

  • What do the folks living in BedZed think of the proposed incinerator for Beddington Lane?? it kind of defeats the object of your holistic living when you'll be breathing in dioxins that are cancer causing...maybe you need to join the fight with the rest of the Beddington residents to stop the over saturation of Beddington Lane.

  • Excellent Idea. Miss Jackson is all for it and loves BedZed!

  • Nice video and a really inspiring project. I hope to visit in 5 weeks time...I'd like to get some idea on what might be practical in retrofitting in existing buildings and making them one-planet livable.
