The Vikings at Foteviken - The Battle 2009

At the big Viking market at Foteviken, Sweden, in 2009, the Viking town was attacked by enemies. The kings guard protected the town and many of the guard and of the enemy were slaughtered.

@devinmuslim1 There where Viking Warrior Women too you know in real life! Not like in Holywood or the movies though. In real Viking times some women held positions of power! Ask any true Swedish Viking if you do not believe me?

The blond warrior is Per Andersson, who worked there for 15 years.

I´ve been there for the last 5 summers. Fantastic place, with 600 Vikings from Northern Europe.

Great costumes and weapons. The ratio of Vikings with helmets and chain armour was correct too as only the very rich Vikings had them - the majority of Vikings went into battle wearing pretty much normal clothes.
