Sufi Music, Lucknow, India

Every Thursday afternoon, Sufi musicians gather at a gravesite located at the former British Residency in Lucknow. I was lucky enough to be there with a video camera this past October. They really start rockin' about ninety seconds into the video.

Saudi Wahabi'ism is not all that bad. It is a simple version of Islam for

the ordinary man so he does not get exploited by any of the corrupt

Sufi / religious groups that have also come up in past times. Yet at the

core of course Islam is SUFI, I am not debating you people. If you are

true Sufi then go sit with Wahabi's also and understand what they are saying.

Instead of using music, use MARTIAL ARTS practice. That is what

INDONESIAN/ MALAYSIAN Sufi's do. In Music you can use drum.

But more music is actually bringing moods, and mood is not

in Islam. SO Martial Art practice (form practice) in honor of the

Sufi buzurg is more qualified in Islam. Research Indonesia/Malaysia

sufism and its practice of local martial arts of SILAT (Sifat Kilat) which

is a sufi practice there. Indo/ Malay sufism resembles more the

Naqshband tariqah.
