Slingshot style crossbow

this is the newest thing I've built. Its a slingshot style crossbow meaning the arms don't bend and it has a stretchy chord. it took me around 4 hours to build.... 1 hour a day over 4 days so the glue could dry after each step.

Seems to be pretty powerful, you fired it off outside yet? If so, what sort of ranges are you getting? Have any trouble with the string jumping the round or are your low rails sorting that out? Just working on Ideas for my next weapons related project haha

@Kyleengineers sorry for the late reply. havent been ontop of my inbox lately.. I did do some range tests outside. the bolts get around 30 to 35 feet... that was before i shortened the bungy cord though so it probably has more range now. as for the string jumping. i had that problem eary on in the build but i filed a groove into the brass trigger lever and that fixed it. the only issue im having now is the groove starts to cut into the string tied to the bungy. i havent found a permanent fix...

elastic properties of bungie cord is not very good. a slingshot band provides far more power

@ozmanofpeace well wanted to use surgical elastic cuz that works bes ut i didnt hve any so i used the next best thing.

Looks easy to make but i'll use rubber tubing instead of a cord.

@dkdavid721 checkout the slingshot channel with the german dude who makes insansely powerful slingshots. uses "thera" brand bands (flat) - expensive but much more powerful than surgical tubing style
