Motion Graphics Final Project - Serifa

This final project for one of my core typography subjects involves visually expressing the character or usability of a particular typeface, be it through an information-graphics style approach, or something more narrative driven.

Of course I opted for the more narrative based approach, and created a short wild-west themed animation about how the town Sheriff (played by the typeface Serifa) fends off a troublemaking slab serif bandit (played by Rockwell), thus saving the town of New Univers from any harm.

Production took about 100 hours squeezed into 1 1/2 weeks, with about another week prior dedicated to planning and conceptualising. About 100-120 frames were hand animated, with the rest being standard tween-style animation.

Soundtrack is "Piano Bar I", from the Cowboy Bebop Vitaminless OST (1998), composed by Yoko Kanno
