The shown walker cannot change direction. I think it is difficult to do this with 4 legs on mechanic way. 3 legs must always stay on bottom to prevent an overturn.

Yes, 100% the same.
I'll try to do someting different now, with differentials...in order to make a 4 legs walking machine that can change directions.
