SAN FRANCISCO -- More than 16 years ago, Bay Area Rapid Transit investigators dealt with a very similar shooting of a young African-American man by a BART officer.

In January 1993, protesters rallied outside of BART offices, demanding an independent investigation into the shooting of 19-year-old Jerrold Hall.

Hall was shot in the back of the head two months earlier outside a Hayward BART station.

I went to high school with Jerrold. He never had an ounce of violence or agression towards anyone. He was one of the coolest dudes I know. He loved to hang around with the Asian crowd, preferbly Filipinos.
