  • i'm currently learning to drive stick. i happened to buy a subaru 07 sti. do u have any tips for learning to drive this specific type of car. Is there anything that really helped u get teh hang of it?

  • @NeoPanzerth ...eeerrr...practise makes perfect.... hand n leg co-ordination pretty much... The STI cluch pad is a bitch to me..always feels like it wants to throw your foot off when u release it cuz its so springy. I actually find it easier to ride my motorbike than to drive the STI. LOL. Theres videos on utube about gearing if thats wot u wanna know~

  • @chunkatty ya i noticed that right away. the sti clutch is hard or heavy. usually when i go from neutral to 1st gear i have to rest my heal on the floor inorder to release slowly. after that i can just press in and pull off the clutch for the rest of the gears. i actually didnt have any problems in a parkinglot. but once i got onto a 2 way road for some reason i couldnt find the grabing point of teh clutch. either the sti died or it was super jerky. cont....

  • @NeoPanzerth i think that might be cuz in a parkinglot its level so i didnt have to hold down the brake the same time i was letting of the clutch. but on the main road i find that at stops i hold the brake and try to find the grabbing point of the clutch before applying gas. i think that might be my prob though. cuz if the brakes are pressed then u cant feel the car start to move as much. idk. its kinda frustrating me. i just wanna get good already...

  • @NeoPanzerth If your on a incline you should try using ur hand brake and do a hill start that way. eh they taught u that in driving school right? Lol you had to pick a tough car to learn on. As long as you maintain throttle and release the clutch smoothly even though it feels like it wants to throw ur foot off the peddle. If you ever get that jerkyness either push the clutch back in or give it some more throttle-just dont go hitting a wall~lol. Its not good for your car if u bunny hop it 2 much

  • @NeoPanzerth Its jerky cuz you released the clutch too quick and it died cuz you didnt have enough revs(acceleration) as you released the clutch. Hence stalling.

Happen to me a few times when i learned.

  • I wanna drive with a helmet on.

  • :| why are you wearing helmets?

  • I'm learning standard on my 05 sti, shits a bitch, clutch is mega pissy lol

  • Great job! Different than two wheels, huh?

  • lol your helmet is awesome

  • You're not a girl. You're a dude.

  • There's a technique taught in racing school called heel-toe shifting. This is pretty easy on the STI (though it might depend on your shoe size). Essentially, as you're coming fast to a corner, you brake with the inside of your right foot, clutch in, shift to a lower gear, rev the engine with the outside of your right foot WHILE remaining on the brakes, then release the clutch. This puts the engine at the correct RPM for that gear. Higher revs into a corner mean stable traction.

  • I am learning to drive a manual on a C5 vette. Im so scared to hurt the car by making mistakes but i have not done too bad. i wish i didnt live where its so populated. I love your helmet!

  • @chunkatty thanks. ya i think i'm gonna try that. giving it a little gas and releasing the clutch till it catches. with enough practice doing that i'll be able to do it fast and in one motion later... i hope haha. thanks again. i'll practice when i can a let u know how it goes, if u want ;)

  • @ThienKLe More girls like me huh? well that would be scarey @.@; and i thought the world had enough crazy women already... lol

  • you just get more and more interesting LOL.. wish there were more girls like you out there haha!

  • @himfan1 i stuffd up gearing there & revd too much. my lufftopshave suction cups on them.

  • 4:49 that sounded weird lol

Whatd you use to keep those widgets on ur helmet?

  • @himfan1 what do u mean? in what part? well ur either hearing me stuff up my gearing or sometimes the BOV valve releasing air...or the camera rattling?..well..hmm i dunno..I look at the cam a bit when i stuffd my gearing..heehee opsie..poor car.
