  • This was from the Metropol, Berlin October 30th 1980. Yes it was a whole gig. The complete tracklist and info can be found if you have a google up mate.

  • Man these guys were great! Is this the verion of their live album Play? I've not heard it in well over a decade, but god it still sounds just as great. Glad it one of the few pieces of vinyl i hung onto!

  • Nope its a different version mate

  • I work in one of the last indie record stores in London. Have spent the last 20 years telling people that this is pretty much the best song ever. Great lyrics, awesome bassline, even the synth solo rules. Give Me Everything, I Salute You.

  • This was the era of 'lead bass' player. All those guys like Burnel, Foxton, Pete Hook, Bruce Thomas and Barry Adamson all coming up with these great lines that you could play on your cheap Fender copy and impress your mates. Brilliant!

  • what a fantastic bass line...

  • simply awesome - possibly my favourite Magazine track! but so many are very very good - Howard - our curious leader ...

  • @Devito46 Lucky you indeed!

  • À Paris, Howard chantait: «Donnez-moi tout»... Je t'aime Howie!!!

  • @holybear This sucks? Are you sure? Sounds FANTASTIC to my ears.

  • Did some people totally miss the era this was from??

  • F'ING GREAT! Back in the late 70's a very hip friend in L.A. intro'd me to Magazine. I've been addicted ever since. Even now I have about six of their tracks on my iPod that I must listen to periodically, and this song is the top of the list. Have always loved it! Thanks for posting!!

  • @FlashFace Can music this cool ever happen again?

  • Magazine in 1980 was SO brilliant live. On top of my giglist. I did see Magazine with John Mc Geogh... Lucky me.

  • @MisAnnThorpe Thanks for the tip, I just listened to several Cindytalk tracks, some of it I liked and found very it interesting, quite a similar vibe at times to that TG track as you said. I didn't know Gordon Sharp was involved with Cocteau Twins, been into them for 23 years. Cheers
