No more than 50% of laws affecting the UK are passed in the European Parliament.

This aid to the developing countries of Europe also has long-term benefits to our country, which has balance of payments problems in the form of a current account deficit; as these countries grow richer, thanks to our aid, the people will develop a taste for high-end goods, such as those produced in the UK. I hate to sound rude, but let's look at the bigger picture here instead of pointless, romantic nationalism.

Britain gives more than it gets from Europe to help the less developed countries of the European periphery. Isn't it a great thing to help out our struggling neighbours instead of hoarding the money greedily for ourselves. It is the same principle as progressive taxation; the rich pay more so that poorer people can pay less and are not left is as much poverty.
