Dear 96rock Listener;

When you turn us on today, you'll notice a few changes - 96rock is now Radio 96.1!

How did we come up with the music mix on Radio 96.1?

Well, we have to thank YOU for that. We asked listeners like you, throughout the Triangle, what they wanted to hear on their favorite radio station. The result was a much wider variety of rock music than we ever imagined playing on one radio station.

You told us you wanted to hear a greater diversity of songs with music spanning from the 80s with artists such as Guns N Roses, REM and John Mellencamp; to 90s music from Nirvana, Gin Blossoms and Green Day, to Classic Rock from Led Zeppelin, Steve Miller Band and Aerosmith and even some newer music by artists like Nickelback and Linkin Park.

You also said you wanted to hear A LOT more music, without a whole bunch of useless talk. And that's why Radio 96.1 will always deliver "More Music" and "Less Blah Blah Blah." Our goal is to make Radio 96.1 the best reflection of your musical tastes and preferences.

@hoosierdaddyx1 Yeah it does. If we wanted less blah blah we could just use iPods or thousands of other sources to listen to music without DJs. If 96 rock ever came back it would at least show that they care about their listeners.

You may not say it but they suck.. Raleigh does not have a good rock station... I listen to the Fayetteville station rock 103 and have for awhile ,, ,, 96 was playing the same boring stuff

@tomlrob yeah 96 was playing the same crap that wasn't even really consider new. they still could have made a change, at least a positive one. They could have rename their station new 96 rock where they play heavier or newer stuff instead of this lame pop crap now.

i did hear the traffic girl Jaime on the radio 96.1 this morning.

And I miss the Rock Jocks too, thats why i listened. After Salt and D got axed, i was pretty disappointed. Now, Adam 12 is axed and i think Blade too (from what i've heard, Alli's still on doing the appearance thing)

and as for the interactions, thats all gone :/ Twofer teusday was probably my favorite, and now all thats just out the window.

@zephyr12321 Yeah looking back I noticed 96 rock seemed to be going downhill with them getting rid of certain DJs but still I never thought I would see the day where they changed their format and the station name.
