  • my talent show plays this song every year for the opening

  • Glad you enjoyed the story. As I recall, this show was a 90 minute special dedicated to the music of Irving Berlin. The Supremes were also on it and did a "duet w/ Merman from "Call Me Madam" They did the songs " You're just in love / I hear music and there's no one there".

  • @Changojoni What a wonderful story! She was always one of my favorites when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s. Miss her and her voice!!

  • I was in the audience of this show as a child w/ my family. She was FANTASTIC! App. 20 yrs later , I was working backstage of a show and got to meet her several times. One of the great honors and memories of my life. She was funny and brassy and REAL! RIP to the greatest musical star of Broadway!

  • What a voice.

  • Their marriage probably didn't last because she was gay which was a big secret in those days. But she had been known by other stars to try both ways, but preferred females. This is in the biograghies of other stars.

  • @catholicpriest1

I was hoping their marriage would last. I would loved to have seen what their children would have looked like! Neither was was ever noted for their looks...though both were TOPS in their respective show biz fields!

  • She was married to Ernest Borgnine for ONE MONTH back in 1964. Ernest is still alive and making movies at age 94.

  • More More More... we want more!

  • Where the Hell is the rest of the song?
