this is some footage of the hume highway north bound from the wallan wallan rest area to the broadford exit on monday the 09/02/2009 of the fire that went through on saturday the 07/02/2009

  • This is the road I drive along when I go home to Melbourne (now living up on the Murray River), interesting to see 12 months later how the natural resources recover after such an event. The native trees have come back to being green, but the introduced trees are still black and dead. The pine plantation has been bulldozed now, and around Christmas they've been pulling up the dead shrubs in the centre divide. Good to see the grass is green again though.

  • I live in wallan its devastating to see people I know lose their homes. I volunteer at the wallan fire relief centre and I always see someone I know wandering around.

  • I should try and get some footage from Jeeralang, it's nasty up there, also pretty bad up in Boolara.
