Phuong uses the ALG method to recount an old Vietnamese tale. The story is beyond Antonios level of comprehension, but he hopes it will inspire other Vietnamese language learners to work hard, so that they could one day understand the story. Antonio proposes building an entire Vietnamese course around a single story. Listening, reading, comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and eventually speaking and writing, would grow organically, from this ancient tale. By the end, the student would not only speak the language but have mastered the culture. Cultural mastery is crucial to language acquisition.
