I was there, too. USS Holland, but was on stay-behind crew. Rode it out at home in Inarajan. Had the first gate guard watch at Polaris Point afterwards. I was off-roading around power poles in my Ford Taurus to make it in.

I was there. On the U.S.S White Plains. We snapped 27 mooring lines and drug two 2 ton anchor chains. We were blown from the peir and ran aground. We waited 7 days for a tug boat from Hawaii to pull us off the shore. Bent the screw and rudder to crap.
