Time lapse of fluffy white cumulus clouds moving across a bright blue sky. The clips range from 11x to 15x actual speed.

The music track is an abridged version of What Is This Love by Blue Rodeo.

Watch in full screen and the highest definition your computer can handle. And leave a comment.

  • do you think you could go to sendspace or mediafire and make download link for this ive been searching for a cloud scene that bright and cheerful for a video i wanna make :)

  • @CheerUp2 I can't find this video on my computer -- must have deleted it to make room for something else -- so it's only available here on YouTube. But you're welcome to download it from here and use it. :)

  • I thought the same as 5jeanbittersweet did; 'I need computer screen on the ceiling.' I saw angels, dragons, some pink & purple. Very nice indeed seaottersoup. May I ask how you came up with such a fun name? I imagine a bunch of little sea otters lying on their back floating around, cracking open oysters & just having a righteous good old time being playful...that's you!

  • @Annie7821 Hahah -- I don't remember exactly why, but when I set up my account, I was obsessed with the idea of having "soup" in the name. But nearly every "real" soup was already in use, along with things like papersoup. I was about ready to give up on the soup idea when I checked for sea otter, and found it was available. :)

  • Simple. Lovely. Contemplative. But the clouds look more violent, roiling, boiling, tearing and colliding in time lapse.

  • @RockingJamboree Thanks! I keep hoping to record storm clouds rolling in -- those can provide some real violence in time lapse. :)

  • @5jeanbittersweet Hahah -- It's not hard to do. Just aim the camera at a promising looking patch of sky and walk away for half an hour. Then speed up the footage by 10 or 15 times in the editor to make a 3 or 2 minute video. But it requires tons of room on the hard drive, and a bit of luck with the sky. Once I have the sped-up video, I delete the original footage because I just don't have room to keep it all.

  • Oh, I love it, Time Lapse, It must be hard to do? ! The music and the clouds,,wish I could play it above me tonight, I need computer screen on the ceiling,;) Thats my home, I miss floating around up there!

  • @seaottersoup A class with structure guides the student to learn aspects of a subject that they might otherwise overlook. The trick is to find a class that doesn't turn a fun hobby into work. It's possible to learn a lot by working from a book, but it's better for most people to have a chance to interact with others doing similar things. Good luck.

  • @maniacalmike It's fun trying to figure out light. Probably one of the things a course would help me with though...
