Answer me this. If someone draws a gun an Shadow Hare, how do you see it going down? Honestly, what do you think the likely outcome is? Do you think it is unreasonable that if the cops showed up, that someone with a gun could crab him and use him as a hostage?

Yeah, cause he's totally going to go after someone with a gun. And don't give me that crap about "what if he doesn't know there's a gun?" That's cop do on a daily basis. And also don't give that me that shit on "well he's not professionally trained!" Does it make a difference? If he's able to warn others that the criminal has a gun, whether it be from gunfire or not, he could still save lives. I mean, why else would a criminal carry a gun unless to kill someone?
