If your computer has Windows Vista or 7 then it will allow you to use Direct X 10 settings, otherwise it will force it down to 9.

I downloaded Crysis and Crysis Warhead through Impulse and it runs so smooth on all very high settings on my M17x laptop. But I want to know how do I figure out if I have X9 or X10?

Damm that's smooth. I have amd x2 6000 3Gb ram and a gtx 460 1gb. Still it runs like crap on my system

even though it's in 720p, they both look like crap. YouTube degrades the quality which make most comparison useless

DX9 has more light, DX10 is supposed to look more ... humid and dark , like areal jungle. Not all that much more atmospheric if you ask me.
