This is the first time the Brigg and District Amateur Radio Club (BDARC) have attended the Winterton Show.
This show is in its 139th year and always pulls large crowds over the weekend.
This is the third showground in the shows long history.
For many years the show was held on a Friday and Saturday only with a Civil Service on the Sunday.
In recent times it was moved over the weekend.
As a club we decided it would be an ideal place to promote the Radio Hobby and try and get more youngsters and new blood into radio.
We had good results...but mainly from Older Hams who have left the Hobby in the past!
I feel it is very hard getting youngsters interested in this modern world of mobile phones, X Boxes ect, but we will keep promoting it for sure.
We had some decent contacts too on the Cushcraft R7 vertical antenna.
We reallly did enjoy the event and a big Thank you to the Winterton Agricultural Society for inviting us and making us feel most welcome.
Thanks for viewing the video.....73 Dave M0OGY Chairman BDARC.
