This real commercial may have been Betty's inadvertent audition that got her the role of "Happy Homemaker" Sue Ann Nivens on the slightly-later-'70s Mary Tyler Moore Show ... where Betty spoofed this persona by laying the Know It All syrupy (yet sometimes snide) patronizing smugness on with a trowel! Great comic gifts.

Aside from it being a kick to see Betty White, it's interesting to note how "straight" commercials played it back then. Nowadays, they have to be gimmickey or (ostensibly) comical or overtly sexual or beat-you-over-the head obnoxious, but back then, they just talked about the product. This commercial consisted of Betty simply demonstrating how Spray and Wash worked.
