On days when dreams come back
from out the myth of childhood
On days when dreams come back
they'll find me changed.

And though I can still recognize
The patterns made by rain
on bare red earth
I read no magic in their slow design.

There are no voices in the wind
... Just Time's cold breathing.
No castles in the flames
... Just burning wood.

So when you come back dreams
Return what life has stolen.
Reline this empy vault
with fronds of gold.
