@metroidfighter It is based on G1, there's no denying that. But it does belong in the Aligned continuity family, which is the same one as Transformers: Prime. But there are so many inconsistensies between the two.

@metroidfighter This is not an official prequel to the G1 series moron. It is more of a prequel to the Transformers Prime show than anything.
