wow-really cool- Im a player -a real player -6 days a week for 30 years-seriously! Im worked in all the funk-mostly Louis, Larry, Mark king , Aron Mills etc...but that thumb playin pick style(for lack of a better term) is really cool--requires softness not seen in the Power funk of.....say --Louis---Never too old to learn! Almost 50 ---and -this is blowin my mind! GREAT!

The original "jaco like bass line" i made was fingerstyle, then i made a pick version and a slap version - this is the latter. The "jaco like" indicates the note used not the pickin:-)

it is NOT easy to double thumb......... getting the same sound on the way back thumb up is just plain hard..........

Thank you for your words of wisdom. The bassline was Jaco-like, just like he promised, and no, the double thumb technique isn't necessarily Jaco-like, but he didn't say it was: he said it was a Jaco-like bassline, using a double thumb technique. The result was something new created from 2 separate ideas. Much like how babies are made. But that's for another day.
