Weekend Getaway, Manitowaning Village, Manitoulin Island

Manitowaning village is one of many small towns on Manitoulin Island. The island was settled on in the 1800 by immigrants from mainly Irish and Scottish decent. The island already had Ojibway inhabitants prior to immigrant arrivals. Farming was the main activity on the island and is continuing to do so, but on a smaller scale. There are a lot of old buildings and farms on the island. It is worth while planning a trip to visit Manitoulin Island in the summer. A must see island - photographers dream!

@mvann5566 Yes, just follow the road around the island. you will have a good opportunity that I have did not as I went during winter time. Its a very nice place.. I wish I could go there again someday....smiles

Yes indeed. I had excellent company to take me around some parts of the island and I think we will go again in summer. I am glad you like them. keep checking as I will put more clips.
