A violent death of Arius (the first one who exposed the view rejecting divinity of Christ) was a consequence of his heretical views.

It is not religion that existed for 2000 years but Christianity (true apostolic Orthodox Church) to be more precise. Nothing left of sects that were spreading gnostic herecies like this video (that rejects Divinity of Christ) - arians, ebionites, albigenses, socinians - nothing is left of them...

Accepting personal responsibility for all acts of consciousness is the first step in elevating oneself from the mire of delusion, doubt, fear, insecurity, vindiction, spite, malice, and ignorance.
We are all children of the Infinite, and are all as important. Some of us have merely stepped up a few rungs on the Infinite ladder of reality. Despair not!

But why even bother defending a church? One does not need walls to praise God or to remain loyal to him, it all comes from the hearth and your faith no? And many people testify about their religions anyways.

Religion has existed for more than 2000 years, but anyway, religion is merely a stepping stone in human evolution, a way to acknowledge our inner knowing that we are a part of the Infinite Mind, and the door to our salvation lies within.
We learn about the Infinite through experience, and applying our observations to our future actions, therefore weighing the consequences of such future actions, and eventually, discarding dogma in favor of logic, reason, compassion, and understanding.
