As a high school teacher, Jonathan Sperling provides us with a insider's perspective on the daily harassment that takes place on school grounds and the profound impact it has on the victims. He explains that although the schools can provide some security for the victims, so much harassment takes place "under the radar" that it is ultimately up to each parent to empower their child for these inevitable challenges. John also talks about how the Gracie Bullyproof program has helped his 7-year-old son "walk strong," while taking the father-son bond to the next against the level!

If you or someone you know has a child between 4 and 14 years old, send them to http://www.GracieBullyproof.com

  • This got me thinking about my grade school experience up to graduation from high school. If it weren't for my martial experience I would not have been the same person I am today. Most likely I might've been a gang member or even dead. I hope Bully-proof will do for other kids what martial arts in general has done for me; give me courage to stand apart from the crowd and be my own person.

  • @joeratti thats a stupid comment. the first thing tought in martial arts is respect for yourself, others and then to be confident. then there is other things like self control, inhanced focus and the ability to stay clam in stressful situations.

  • This made me tear up. I'm getting the dvd now.

  • This is a great video. I believe it demonstrates the true ability of brazilian jiu jitsu.

This video was embedded on an article about the bond you create with your rolling partners at

  • It all depends on the father. You can teach your son to defend himself. The Gracie Combativies course has 36 basics techniques. Blue belt level Jui Jitsu will get it done against most untrained bullies. You as a father that let your son get bullied. Shame on you!

  • I've been training Jiu Jitsu for a few months now, and being in my second year of high school. You just learn so much, you have the knowledge that you can defend yourself, and there is no need to let people be the boss of you. Just that knowledge that you can defend yourself in any situation. That thought is extremely comforting and allows you to "walk strong" as the person in the video says.

  • Sorry, I mean that we LEARN to fight so we don't have to.

  • @joeratti Mr. Miyagi said we fight so we don't have have to fight.

  • I like how this teacher is aware. Most teachers don't give a fuck about what happens under the radar. A teacher of mine in 4th grade let me know to do whatever it took to not get punked. He knew I let myself far too much. Fighting is a great way to get to know who you are because you can't hide from a punch. You can't hide from an armbar, you can't hide from a choke. What you see is what you get.
