The 'Cambridge Experience': spectacular, superficial, stimulating, suffocating. Filmed and edited during the third-year of my undergraduate degree in King's College, Cambridge University, UK. (I studied Philosophy, Economics and Politics.) It's an attempt to portray my experience of life in Cambridge: spectacular, superficial, stimulating, suffocating. I used Mini-DV in a Sony handicam, and spent bloody ages playing around with different transitions and effects in an editing suite, many of which I had to custom make myself, cf. the flowery bit in the middle...

  • what a nice experience

  • @8bobthebuilder Your personal statement and reference, and then your interview. Most people who apply are invited for interview, and it seems to be the most important step in getting a place.

  • fantastic video! one question - did you like staying at kings'? or were there too many tourists? also, do you know what peterhouse college is like? thankyou! :D must've took you ages to do that bit from 2:18 onwards! :D

  • @Thorheld ..and there are 19th-Century philosophers in the world who wrote their entire thesis in Latin.

  • @solo2wolf So if you need at least As, let's say a bunch of students competing to get in all have As, what other things determine which ones get in and which ones don't, assuming that more people with straight As apply to get in that will be accepted?

  • AMAZING VIDEO! And congratulations for getting into Cambridge, it's quite an achievement! I'm only fourteen, but I aspire to go to this university to study English or Modern and Medieval Languages in a few years. Thank you for sharing your experience!

  • Is Cambridge the best university to study at?

At Harvard I would be taught the political thought of Marsilius of Padua by a PhD student in a seminar.

Here, at Cambridge, I just came out of an hour-long one-on-one lesson with the academic who translated Marsilius from Latin into English in the first place.

    'Nuff said.

  • Amazing job! I love the place ;)

  • nice video man!!
