A BEAM Bot inspired motor with a battery and some square wheels and you have a cute little bot that everybody loves. I have bots I've spent months working on only to have everyone commenting and raving about this little guy. It takes 15 minutes to build one and it becomes the Robot Star.

  • While not a true beam robot, it is a cool experiment!

  • True... When I get a spare moment, I can give it some real BEAMiness!!!

  • Wire is great for lots of things - see my video on wireFrame robot bodies... I've experimented with not only the simple wire frame, but wire Legs that can handle large objects like stairs... You soon find you can smash your way over many obstacles by reducing the contact area.. That's wheel leg-wheels even rimless spokes they can cross tall objects when they "Walk." Have fun with your own style and exploration...

  • I have recently gained an interest in robotics and I have been looking for ideas for movement so this video has helped me. I never really thought of using wire for movement. As Albert would say, "Very interesting."
