MUSIC VIDEO: Kate Bush Under The Ivy (cover)

This was recorded on 9/26/09 at Shibboleth Studios. Cover of Kate Bush "Under the Ivy." Arrangement and all instrumentation by Michael Aaron.

This is definitely out of my element - not my normal song choice by any stretch of the imagination, but Michael played this for me and suggested I try it and I really connected with it. I know there's many conversations out there about what the actual meaning of the song is, but this is what resonated with me. I also know it's a little bit of a departure vocally for you die-hard Kate Bush fans, but I hope that you'll like my take on it. :)

While I appreciate that you watched the video and read the notes, I'm not sure that you can say with 100% authority that is NOT about child abuse. There's several different interpretations out there, and my description is the one that resonated to most with me lyrically. As a songwriter myself, I know that often times lyrics can be interpreted in different ways, depending on the listener. In fact, I wouldn't ever want to impose a specific definintion in my songs, so maybe she wouldn't either.

In the Kate Bush documentary it's stated that this song is based on the book The Secret Garden. Many if her songs were about books. - Wuthering Heights, Cloudburstung etc...
