  • pity the sound is so terribly low, i have been waiting for this to make it onto youtube...thanks

  • @faalap84 Since it was on the yahoo7 website and I couldn't download it, the sound is meant to be coming though the "Sunflower" add-on for iShowU but it isn't working for this video, so instead it is coming though the internal mic of my iMac, that is why you hear the background noise.

  • Mark Skaife driving a Ford Falcon?!

  • i lost my brother 10 months ago in a car crash. he was not an idiot. good driver. took part in numerous defensive driving courses etc. the only reason that he died was thanks to a VZ Commodore Wagon not having curtain airbags. wake the fuck up Australian Government and listen to Mark. he is extremely sharp in this sort of thing. He should be head of Driver Safety or the Motor Accident Commission. Good luck to you Skaifey, hope you can get your message across mate.

  • Skaifey is spot on. I mean if you compare us to Finland and Germany, we are way behind when it comes to driving.

  • True true true, to all that !! and I haven't heard anything in this next election about Reducing Road tolls on our roads.. go figure they dont care.

  • @somerandomaussie

Yes, i know how ABS works. When i said "ABS is there to reduce stopping distance after the wheels lock up", I worded it quite poorly, sorry. What I meant was ABS activates after the wheels lock up (or just before the wheels locks up, depending on car) [thereby reducing the stopping distance.]

  • @AhilMohan actually abs is designed to stop brakes locking up and reducing the braking distance by electronically contolling the brake calipers...

  • @soseg hmm good point but you can only make a car so safe there are other factors involved ....its like when a tradesman does a botchy job on a worksite do u blame his tools or the tradesman? people are looking at the road toll from the wrong angle and they are corrupted by what the government feeds them thru the media...good job to mark skaife for tryin tho

  • @somerandomaussie it's a BF Falcon not a BA.

Besides the point. Yeah the BA/BF or VY/VZ are old-ish in terms of years... the cars are still relatively new in terms of model numbers. The only newer falcon / commodore is the VE/FG (which are safer, especially the FG falcon).

If they were talking about a 90s or 80s model car I'd understand but when I look at a BA/BF VY/VZ I dont think to myself "old unsafe car with old technology"
