Afghanistan is a mosaic of hundreds of different tribes. Especially in rural areas the decisions of tribal elders still carry an enourmous weight. With the escalating violence in the country, the United States seem to realize that the current problems cannot be solved without the support of tribal leaders. But are these tribes willing to cooperate with foreign forces? And what are the long-term political implications of this strategy? This is the last edition of our Inside Story special from Kabul

  • Where did you go to school? Please ask for a refund!

  • hopefully obama can see that the afghan people need peace after 30 years of war AND THE REAL FRONT FOR TERRORISM IS IN PAKISTAN, WHERE OSAMA IS NOW HIDING

  • Gotta hate the Bush administration. And then supposedly they had a good chance of catching him at one point but Donald Rumsfeld didn't push the chance to capture him because he was too busy asserting his will over the CIA and trying to plan the Invasion of Iraq. Again, we apologize for these dip shits. If it were up to me, i would hand over Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld to a world court to be tried for their crimes. Point is, the American populace still wants to catch Bin Laden.

  • yeh the taliban offered that on oct. 1st, they were gonna give bin laden, but for soome odd reason america still attacked on october 7th,

  • And when that happens we'll just carpet bomb another country and you guys will be more pissed at us, and we'll be more pissed at you and it will solve nothing until we're all dead. Instead give us Bin Laden, we can then pull out of Afghanistan (as we should at that point). I'm all for the US pulling out of the middle east. Let you guys handle you're own affairs and we can take our money elsewhere. Start putting it into renewable energy and then you will have nothing to hold over the world.

  • The majority of the people of the United States do not trust or support their military. Obama appears to be the carbon copy of Bush makeing promises to get elected and then doing whatever he can get away with. The US is going bankrupt and the government is going to continue to use war against third world countries to cover up their failed economy. Any foreign country should resist any US influence however they can because the US is going to do whatever it wants anyway. Obama is a fraud.

  • dosent matter yyou carpet bomber will get another 9-11

  • We Americans are dancing in the streets because of the election of Obama and the hopefully fixing of Bush's horrible dealing with the middle east. We feel bad for what happened in Iraq and the miss-handling of Afghanistan, BUT American are still really pissed off at the Taliban and AlQaeda. Just because you have the American people support for getting out of Iraq doesn't mean you have their support about Afghanistan.

  • In order for justice, there is no need for empty shouts and empty cries that hold no weight, neither is cursing or hate any helpful. Education is key, if people are educated, maybe justice will become more of a crucial aspect of ones life.

  • Honestly, do you think it is that simple?
