Still As Beautiful: Chapter 62, Part 3 [Read Description!]

Again, thank you guys for rating and commenting the way you do! These last few chapters were what I have been working on and tweaking to perfect, so it's awesome that you guys appreciate them. Hopefully this will clear things up a little bit, and if not, there's always the next chapter ;]

Finally, Nick obliged, helping Miley to her feet before standing tall along side her. "Sorry" both teens muttered before walking over to the large oak table beneath the rustic chandelier lighting in the Cyrus kitchen.
"Nicholas, Im glad to see that youre alive-"
"Yeah, sorry, we fell asleep-"
"Nicholas, you were told to drop Miley off and go home, were you not?"
Nick looked to Mr. Cyrus. "Yes sir" His head dropped in defeat.
"Im standing right here, daddy. You can yell at me too. We feel asleep, okay?"
"Miley!" Miley shot daggers in her mothers direction. "The attitude, is that neccessary?"
"Mom! Hes being ridiculous! We fell asleep!" Miley annunciated the words, hoping that their slow tempo and steady beat would make her message more clear to her parents.
"We-"
"Nicholas, did we ask for an answer? Dont back talk...youre in deep water as it is" Mr. Jonas added, finally joining the conversation.
"Why is it such a big deal? Miley was-"
"I was scared to sleep alone, okay?" Nick looked to Miley, unsure of why she was keeping her temporary illness from her parents. He shook it off, somehow managing to smile as his girl changed the subject and lightened the mood.
"Miley, sweetie, please dont argue with me before I leave"
"No mom! Its eight in the morning! Why does he have to leave?!"
"Miley, stop" Nick whispered only causing Miley to jab him in the side with her elbow. Immediately, he gave up. Soon, the conversation was spiraling, out of control and out of grasp for both Nick and Miley.
The parents were talking back and forth across the table, and Miley just watched everything unfold as screams suppressed themselves in her throat. Denise let a short laugh dipped in sarcasm leave her lips as Billy Ray and Kevin Sr. scolded in the best way they knew how. Tish continued to yell at Miley who didnt seem to be listening anymore.
Nick glanced to Miley and she only half-heartedly glanced back. Her mind was elsewhere and her hands were glued to her eardrums as her fingers idly tried to keep them closed as she blocked out the rest of the world. All of the questions in the world had been laid out on the table and Miley was just ignoring them, pretending she wasnt here right now. She felt weightless and heavy, all at the same time. It felt almost as if her life was playing tug of war with her mind, all without warning. In moments fleeting, Miley was humming, a tune that was all familiar to Nick. She listened to nothing but the sound of her own voice, bringing her far away. This wasnt the Miley Nick knew and he wasnt sure hed ever find her here again.
