Dedicated to the indomitable will of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in Asia
Pacific, "Celebration of Life" is a brief, but moving tale of the triumph of human spirit
over burdening adversities. Shot on location, this poetic visual is imbued with the
angst and aspirations of people living with HIV/AIDS. It is a soft, but firm voice
against stigma and discrimination and a resounding call for breaking the stereotypes
of people living with HIV/AIDS.
This film is a sequel to "Quiet Storm" a similar film that was produced in 2003.
Celebration of Life is also the title of the campaign against stigma and discrimination
by UNDP Regional HIV and Development Programme. Premiered at the official
opening of the 7th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) in
Kobe in July, 2005, this short film has been possible only because of the support of
several networks of people living with HIV/AIDS in the region. The contents may be
freely broadcast and distributed, provided there is no commercial intent.
