  • I noticed you place your feet quite wide, how does that differ from narrow stance? I find narrow stance to be harder to go down and it places a lot of tension on my back forcing me to lean forward a lot more, but with a shoulder width stance I can easily perform squats and take on heavier weight.

  • the truth is that i don't offer any of my athletes a "perfect" foot position. it seems that everyone has a unique "groove" that allows them to squat most comfortably. we find this by asking "if you had to take a shit in the woods, how would you squat down"?

  • elliot if you don't mind me asking, what was your best squat when you played football? i dont doubt since you deadlifted 650 that its respectively close to that but whats your PR? just curious. I appreciate all your tips on training and motivation so i would just like to know. t

  • Fuckin badass dude who listens to badass music

  • Yo Elliott...

With respect to box squats, wouldn't the use of boxes that allow ones hip/knee line to go below parallel be more useful; in other words, going deeper? Never tried them... just curious.

  • YOU LISTEN TO BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE!! NICE haha

  • The box is a good idea. I'm going to use it thanks!

  • Wider stance in squats, leg press etc puts more emphasis on your vastus medialis (inner tear drop muscle) where narrow stance places more emphasis on the outer muscle, Vastus lateralis. It is good to use both to help develop full, thick quadriceps. Or if your outer is lacking a bit preform more narrow stance exercises. But still work the inner.

  • bloddy love ur vids man!, theyv realy helped me get back playing after some serious injuries goin on. p.s wats the tune in the background?
