As a continuation from the previous podcast, this episode shows how to start making the transition from standing facing the net to standing at the side. Grips are also part of this topic because when standing at the side the correct grip directs and spins the ball into court.

  • Yes - and also for any other forms of spin.

Yes - Providing you keep the thumb down and not spread as in the one handed backhand. With the eastern grip and the thumb spread it locks the wrist which is great for the one handed backhand. With the thumb down it loosens the wrist which is perfect for the serve.

  • This is a question you should be asking your self, which one are you more comfortable with

    I myself use a 2 handed backhand.

  • hmm... that grip is better for slice serves right? i use close to 1 handed backhand eastern for my serves, would this be a good grip to use in your opinion?
