@PhillipRocks9 No, the AFL was established before the GAA. However, football was played in Ireland for 100s of years without a governing body before Europeans were even aware of Australia's existence. Maybe a spell learning the facts would do you well!

@spades70 $0. It's an amateur sport. Crowd attendances at the highest profile games look impressive, but the market isn't big enough to support professionalism.

it's weird seeing something that looks kinda like AFL but being played with a round ball, and in AFL when you catch the ball it's called a 'mark' do they call it that in Gaelic Football?

@Amunication There's no "mark" in Gaelic football in the sense of giving a free kick for a high catch. Some people have talked about introducing it, but it never came to anything for fear of slowing the game down with more interruptions. So a high catch is just called a high catch.

@BokkieUB Soccer is a globally-recognised term for Association Football. The term originated in England and is still in some use there.
