Did they actually kiss? wow, then that's AMAZING acting. Heath, great. Jake, also great. kudos.

"No Jack he rodeos mostly" you bet he does
No but seriously, I love this scene. This is the best of the movie, and probably the best kiss scene ever.

Love when they kiss too! Intense! Powerful! Sexxxi!! Whenever I see this scene I'm always sitting there like 'No no no don't kiss him yet! Get outta view of the damn door!!' lol xD Sadly they don't hear me. He'd still be home free though if they'd controlled themselves until they got somewhere else. But 4 years apart, I understand how that's difficult.

@Rudermonster me too, its like 'yay my jacks here' :), so hot wen they kiss , so intense! love this film.

They weren't glorified. :/ The whole point of the movie was to show how hard things were for everyone involved because of the intense discrimination against homosexuality (IMO at least).
Ennis was shown the body of a person who was killed because he was gay, when he was a kid. Can you really blame him for trying to be 'normal' and start up a heterosexual family? Yeah it sucks for the wife and kids, but that's just it. Discrimination has negative effects on everyone involved.

Why not be "single" and have that love affair without dragging others into it then??
People are so caught up in this Kiss scene and the character's selfish behaviour that all family morals and the basic respect for others has gone out the window.
I don't care that it's about gay men, fine if that's who you love... but I hate movies like this... nobody wants to start a family with someone to find them doing the dirty on the side and then have THAT person glorified .... :S <---- Cranky Face!

He probably would've been killed, seriously. Not that it wasn't a shitty deal for his wife, but. Yeah.

Has anyone noticed that Heath talks with a cowboy accent most of the movie until he says " Jack fucking twist". He has an aussie accent when he says that
yeah , I feel sad for Alma and I think we are supposed to. Isn´t one of the points of the movie that when people are forced into living lives they don´t want, people around them will inevitably get hurt.
Jack and Ennis should have been able to live together, and then Alma (or Lureen) wouldn´t have gotten hurt

Yes the point of the movie is how society and fear ended up destroying all these lives and family's.
