either way light died ryuk ended up killing him with his notebook both ways sending light to nothingnis which pretty much is the shinigami world where light plans to become a shinigami himself and become the god of that world and perhaps revenge on near and the others.

I hate the ending but not because light die but because he got trap by N and not L they kill L to early in the game....
