  • @yvamarquer I meant to say,punk only ever existed in England,full stop

  • I just love it when people say punk was more real in the UK, cuz that's fuckin hilarious

  • Van Halen

  • TOPY? Temple Ov Psychick Youth was a TG / Psychic TV extension... same people: Genesis P:Orridge, Peter Christopherson, and the like...

This is not to say that America had no part in it, but TOPY sounds like a wrong example to me. Or maybe I just misunderstood...

  • I'll let you know when America was ever a "breeding ground for 'punk'" in the late 70s. There were a few good things, but for the most part, Britain OWNED the New Wave. The Ramones were good up until they released their capitalist, sellout 3rd LP, but even then the likes of The Damned took the formula to entirely another galaxy. Name one USA band who could even touch anything like TG, or The Fall. I'm not British; I'm American, incidentally.
