The loco is a W class, originally built by Beyer Peacock in Manchester for the Western Australian Government Railways in 1951. W 933 has actually seen more service with Pichi Richi (restored in 1973) then it ever did in revenue service. I am not 100% sure but that 'hissing' is most likely from the air compressor.

Will add this video to my favourites, should be picked up by my train loving friends, I seem to have plenty these days.

Just keep a very close eye on websites who will pick our videos up and use them for their own purposes, in time this seems to happen to everyone on the tube, just seems to be the way things are.

A strange sounding steam locomotive (for an anglophile), but what a marvellous engine all the same, and such incredible scenery too. Forgive the question, but what class of locomotive is that?

Not sure what class but I'll try to find out.. Maybe some other viewers may be able to help.
