Dancers at Blackpool's famous Tower Ballroom dancing the Cha Cha Cha, it is Christmas time and the floor looks full for this organist, or at least fairly full considering it must be December.
Not at all Sir.. I was referring to John Bowdler. However I must correct myself on this remark. John has played the Wersi A few times this year I am told. You are a fantastic organist. At home on pipes or electronics.
I have just seen this, I hope your remark was aimed at someone else and not myself spectraman, as i played The Wurlitzer, Yamaha, Wersi and even the Technics F3, though i do admit i made no secret of the fact i didnt like the Wersi, but ive heard it played by Chris Hopkins and David Lobban and they sound great on the instrument.
when i was there he was on both wurlitzer and eELX1.i reckon no offence to the wersi organists who play there .. they are excellent players . i guess you either love that wersi or you hate it,
my friend mr G.S how did i miss this one !! the good old days of the yamaha ELX1 .. an organ which was there when i used to visit every couple of weeks. nice cha cha graeme, ive heard the wersi in the ballroom also and must say.. bring that ELX1 Back !! one qustion though .. why does mr J bowdler refuse to play this organ ?
The ELX1 sounded fantastic. Much better than this live if you know what I mean. I am A very good mate of Graeme's We each have a EL90. The ELX1 sounded better than the 90 dose. Its also a LOT easer to set up than the Wersi Louvuer. I Played the Wurlitzer in October by very kind request of David Lobban. I watched him set it up and it took him a wile. David has done this for 4 years now so he knows what he is doing. The ELX1 was put a disk in and away you go.
A Yamaha in the tower ballroom...no offence but it sounds poor and looks so out of place, how could you possibly put this next to the tower Wurlitzer and not cringe?thanks for the Wersi arriving in the ballroom thats an organ that contrasts so well with the Wurli. I agree with Spectraman3849 Grahame scarlett is a very good organist but this instrument does nothing for him. If this organ had been at the tower when i visited the ballroom i would have been appalled and quite frankly dissapointed.
This instrument is now in situ at the lyndene hotel is played by myself and trevor raven.
