The late Uncle Joe Keaulana sings the classic "My Darling" with that good Hawaiian feeling. The high, sweet harmonies of Aunty Pahukoa Morse can be heard off-camera. Aunty passed away last week and we remember her signature rhythm guitar and beautiful voice as we prepare to bid her "aloha." Both she and Uncle Joe were long-time members of Kimo Alama Keaulana's group, Lei Hulu. Filmed in Waimea, on Hawai'i Island, Nov 2004 at Noe Kimi and Alika Buchanan's home.
I can still here his voice as if he were here today.."bebe make papa coffee, black with two sugars"... or his funny "papa no mo money," song. His hilarious one liners and come backs. His road rage..The way he laughed.. and the way he whistles when he's too tired from working in the yard. This video brings back so many memories. Oh how I miss my papa joe!! Mahalo Nui for Sharing.
