The ASW28 is powered by a Turnigy nano-tech 1300mah 2S 25~50C Lipo Pack.

The wind was a little to much, a little to gusty & a little to turbulent to have a really nice flight. Ray was at the video recorder so we can show you some footage.

  • Excellent video! How do you like the glider so far? also what battery are you using and what type of flight time are you getting? Thanks I subbed!

  • @javamochacocoa

I made the most flying hrs with the ASW in 2011 so I think I like to fly it very much. Stuff could be better on the model and I do not seem to bother about it to much. I use NanoTech 2S 1300MAh. My record is a flight over 70 minutes on a well thermal day. Without thermals the fight times are shorter. Do not know how much shorter :)

On my Blog I have some ASW info too!

    Thanks for subscribing!

  • @HBFPV2 Thank you very much! What glider would you recommend? I really like the way this one looks and HK has all parts so I am planning on purchasing this one. Also was this the plug-n-play version or did you put your own electronics in it? Thanks very much, I am new to the hobby and loving it!

  • @javamochacocoa

What Glider would I recommend? That all depends on what you wanna do with it and your skills. The ASW is not a real thermal hunter, however when thermals are around she can stay up quite long. The ASW flies rather slow so if you like a fast glider the ASW will be to slow. If it is your first plane I think a plane like a Bixler will provide more fun. Etc, etc, etc.

So let me know what you wanna do with a glider and I will have a look for a fitting plane :)

  • Thanks for the response, I noticed yours were orange so I thought you might have added some kind of rubberized spray or something to stiften them up. I partially taped them but might take it off and add some carbon sparring and retaping them. They just seem so thin and flexible.

  • @dirtnapper73

Today I was in the air for more then 70 minutes non stop. So I gues the tips are just fine ;)

The great thing about this hobby is that we all add-on things to our birds, you tape, me paint. And we have great fun with it :)

    Happy Flying

  • @HBFPV2 I would love to be able to stay up for long amounts of time and I am reletively new to the hobby but I think I am doing well as my first rc plane was a corsair. Either or, probably a little bit on the faster side though and I would like to find one that looks scale. That's why I really like this one so far. Thanks

  • Need to proof read before I post lol

  • @dirtnapper73

My wing tips are original. They are thin and less fragile as I thought.

On RCGroups I did read of some one applying tape to the tips.

Not sure if it was packing tape or glass fiber tape.

As long as you land oke I do not see any reason to apply something to the tips.

Maybe when you are a beginner, tape can be a help.

Use hot/boiling water to get dents out of the foam. Watch out for electronics :)

    Happy Flying

  • Did you use something to strengthen the wing tips? They seem really fragile and I want to make them more durable. Any tips?
