Maria is born with the ability to absorb people's emotions so she tends to people's unwanted emotions at night. One night, a random pedestrian visits her, thinking that she is a prostitute. After convincing the pedestrian to meet 'Maria', Maria absorbs all of her unwanted emotions and learns that she is her estranged mother who abandoned her when she was an infant.
