Catherine Wheel were the last and best of the shoegazers and a band that sadly no one but the believers understood.
Their legacy lies in the glorious music they made if not in record sales.

@ohrob If I remember rightly this footage was shown on ITV's late night music show 'The Beat' which was presented by Gary Crowley. Black Metallic was also shown as well from the same gig.

@fundy76 I've also yet to see a recording in high enough fidelity to get the true sense of their live show. I've seen hundreds of bands, and their live sound was stunning, among the very best ever. I fear that you may never get your chance to confirm it. Maybe they'll get back together some day. Rob's solo tours are still amazing, if not quite the wall of sound, harnessing of the wind that the full band was.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what year this was or where this was. I found this video on the web in early 2003, and I've had it ever since. I'm sure this was made long before 2003.

Hi, this footage is of an XFM gig at London Finsbury Park on 13th June 1993. They played with bands like the cure, Carter usm. I was there and they played a great gig. Brill to see this clip, cheers for uploading it
